One of three burglars who broke into a vacant building in Logan Heights to gain entry to a medical marijuana dispensary next door was sentenced Wednesday to five years in state prison.
Darryl McMillan, 45, pleaded guilty to burglary charges. His wife, 30- year-old Chayna McMillan, also pleaded guilty and was sentenced last month to 180 days in jail.
A third defendant, 42-year-old Eric Blackwell, also known as Willy James Thomas, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday to a two-year prison term, to be served in local custody.
Officers sent to Organic Inhale on Imperial Avenue near 29th Street about 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 25 came upon two men loading marijuana into a gray sedan in an alley behind the business, with Chayna McMillan behind the wheel, police said.
A “significant” amount of marijuana was discovered in the car, and the three suspects were arrested, according to police.
