A car crash on Interstate 5 in Bay Park left one person dead Monday.
The fatal crash occurred on the northbound side of the freeway near Balboa Avenue about 5 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The accident left several lanes blocked in the area.
