San Diego Sheriff‘s deputies are investigating a house fire in Lakeside that killed a man and appeared to be intentionally set Sunday.
The fire was reported just before 8 a.m. on New Year’s day, according to sheriff’s deputies. The flames were quickly extinguished but had already severely injured one man who was living alone in the house.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. Deputies say there are no outstanding suspects and the fire looks like it was set on purpose.
An investigation is currently underway.
