A 61-year-old motorist was arrested after hitting a teenager riding a bicycle in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, the San Diego Police Department said Sunday.

At 6:40 p.m. Saturday, a motorist was driving a Chevy sedan east on Imperial Avenue when the car struck a 17-year-old boy riding north on South 47th Street in the crosswalk, officer Robert Heims said.

The teenager — who was riding against the red light — was treated at a nearby hospital for head injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Heims said.

Police said they arrested Donnell Evans on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and the case remains under investigation.
