A woman who was attacked and sexually assaulted on a La Jolla street nine months ago testified Tuesday that her attacker forced her to cheat on her boyfriend.
The woman testified in the trial of 25-year-old Marco Villasenor, who is charged with assault with intent to commit rape and other counts in the attack that happened March 2 at about 9 p.m.
“He (the defendant) forced me to have sexual relations with another man,” the victim testified. “I would never do anything like that. It’s not normally how I like to make love.”
The woman, identified as Jane Doe, testified she was feeling frantic and terrified and kept checking behind her as she walked to her car in the 7700 block of Exchange Place.
She testified that her attacker assaulted her and jabbed his fingers into her genital area with such force that it lifted her off the ground.
The assailant fled after the 25-year-old victim fought back and screamed, according to San Diego police Lt. Paul Phillips. The woman made a 911 call to report the crime, and officers took Villasenor into custody a short time later on nearby Fay Avenue. The victim identified Villasenor as her attacker, the lieutenant said.
After the assault, the victim asked a police officer, “Why do there have to be such terrible people in the world?” she testified.
As police looked for her attacker, the officer responded, “I hope we can punish him as hard as we can,” Jane Doe testified.
Villasenor faces up to eight years in prison if convicted, said Deputy District Attorney Judy Taschner.
