A 66-year-old bicyclist suffered serious injuries Thursday following a bad spill in San Marcos, authorities are reporting.
Around 8:30 a.m., San Marcos sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash in the 2800 block of S. Santa Fe Road and found the male bicyclist with severe head injuries he sustained during a fall.
The man was wearing a helmet, according to a sheriff’s department report.
San Marcos Fire paramedics transported the man to Palomar Hospital where he was treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries, the report stated.
Witnesses on scene were able to confirm no motorists were involved in the mishap.
