The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department will have extra patrol squads out in numerous communities beginning Thanksgiving weekend as part of its annual Holiday Watch.

The Holiday Watch locations around San Diego County are:

  • Poway — From 3 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday, in the Walmart parking lot, 13425 Community Road
  • Ramona — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the business district along Main Street, and 10:30 a.m. at 1674 Main St. and 1855 Main St.
  • Valley Center — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 at the sheriff’s substation at 15954 Woods Valley Road where deputies will share crime prevention tips
  • Lemon Grove — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the first week of December, along Broadway and Lemon Grove Avenue, and at the trolley platforms
  • Imperial Beach — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 8 in Promenade Shopping Center, 800 Palm Avenue, where deputies will offer holiday safety tips
  • Encinitas — 8 a.m. Dec. 10 through 18 in the Walmart parking lot, 1550 Leucadia Boulevard

The sheriff’s department said the annual effort is intended to prevent crime during the busy shopping and traveling season.
