A motorcyclist was hospitalized Thursday with serious injuries he suffered in a collision with a vehicle in Escondido.

The crash was reported at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday on Centre City Parkway, north of Brotherton Road, according to Escondido Police Lt. Mike Kearney.

Based on witness statements and physical evidence at the scene, police deduced that the 29-year-old victim was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle north on Centre City Parkway when he collided with a black Subaru.

The motorcyclist was transported to the Palomar Medical Center by Escondido Fire Paramedics and suffered a broken right femur, broken ribs, and a broken collar bone, Kearney said.

The driver of the Subaru, a 20-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash, Kearney said. Neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash, he added.

During the investigation, a motorist drove into the collision scene. Officers stopped the driver and noticed signs consistent with alcohol intoxication, Kearney said. The male driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
