Two violent fugitives from North Carolina, who had been on the run for more than a week, were arrested Wednesday in North County San Diego, according to authorities.
Jonathan Antonio Richardson, 27, and Erin Lashea Hogsed, 21, both of Pisgah Forest, NC, were arrested at Harrah’s Resort Southern California in Valley Center after North Carolina authorities advised local law enforcement that the pair may have traveled to the San Diego area.
The arrest occurred late Wednesday morning after a deputy spotted a stolen vehicle related to the North Carolina fugitives in a parking structure at Harrah’s; Richardson and Hogsed were subsequently taken into custody without incident, according to San Diego sheriff’s Lt. J. Vickery.
The pair was sought for alleged armed robbery in the larceny of a motor vehicle and second-degree kidnapping on Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Pisgah Forest community in Transylvania County, NC, according to a news report from The Transylvania Times. Both suspects were considered armed and dangerous, the news agency reported.
The fugitives were booked into the Vista Detention Facility for the warrants out of North Carolina and will remain there while awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, according to Vickery.
