Officials on Friday said they are looking for a man who assaulted another man in San Marcos.
The assault happened around 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 28 at the Chevron Gas Station at 1200 W. San Marcos Boulevard in San Marcos.
A man entered the gas station and immediately punched the clerk several times, knocking him to the ground. The clerk hit his head on the floor and was knocked unconscious, officials said.
The suspect then kicked the unconscious clerk on the side of the head and was last seen getting into the passenger’s side of a light- colored sedan. The driver of the sedan was a woman who had previously entered the gas station to purchase beer, according to officials.
The clerk required medical attention and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He suffered bruising and swelling to the right side of his face, a cut on the back of his head that required staples, and bleeding inside his skull on the left side of his brain.
The suspect was described as an African American man between 20-30 years-old, 6’tall and weighing about 185 pounds. He had long dreadlocks, was wearing a yellow t-shirt and black shorts. He is wanted for assault with great bodily injury.
His female companion was described as a Caucasian woman, standing about 5’5” tall and weighing 160 pounds. She has brown hair and was wearing a black bandana on top of her head. She was last seen wearing a black tank top and black pants.
The vehicle that the suspect and his companion were driving is described as an
unknown light colored sedan.
Anyone with information is asked to call the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station at (760) 510-5200 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
