A series of seven small earthquakes centered under the Salton Sea shook Imperial County on Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quakes hit between 4:38 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. The largest registered 4.1 magnitude, and the others were just over and under a magnitude of 3.

No damage was immediately reported.

The San Andreas Fault runs along the northeastern edge of the Salton Sea, and there are other active faults underneath the lake.
