Crews have extinguished two minor structure fires in National City on Monday afternoon, including one at Sweetwater High School.

A National City Fire Department spokesman said the first blaze damaged a multi-unit residential building, and the second — apparently ignited by wind-blown sparks — burned part of a roof at nearby Sweetwater High School.

No injuries have been reported.

The first major Santa Ana wind event of the season has put much of San Diego County under a red flag fire warning.

High temperatures Monday will be as hot as 95 to 105 degrees west of the mountains.
