A 51-year-old woman is in grave condition at a local hospital from at least one gunshot wound suffered at the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation in Warner Springs, and her suspected attacker was arrested, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies.

Authorities arrested 57-year-old Sandra Leigh Stoneburner in connection with the shooting, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.

Just after 11:45 p.m. Friday deputies responded to a reported shooting at a home in the 1000 block of Camino Ignacio where they found a woman lying inside the residence with obvious trauma to her upper body, said Lt. Kenneth Nelson.

Paramedics rushed the 51-year-old woman to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido in grave condition.

Stoneburner was booked into the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility in Santee shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder. Her arraignment was scheduled for next week in Vista Superior Court. The victim’s name was not released.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail asked anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at (858) 974-2321.
