A 10-year-old boy suffered a serious leg fracture this afternoon when a car hit him on a Chollas View street, authorities reported.

The child darted out from between two parked motor homes and ran directly into the path of the eastbound 2004 Toyota Camry in the 4500 block of Hilltop Drive about 3:15 p.m., according to San Diego police.

Medics took the youngster to a hospital for treatment of a compound fracture to his left tibia, Officer Robert Heims said. The child’s name was not released.

No other injuries were reported.
