San Marcos Fire Department responded to a reported water main break near the intersection of W. Mission Road and N. Pacific Street at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the intersection completely flooded with water. They were able to locate the cause of the flooding by following the water up the street to its source.

Crews discovered the source of the leak at Halter Place and N. Pacific Street. Vallecitos Water District.

Information was not yet released on how many, if any, homes were without water. Repair crews are expected to be working at the site of the leak all day, and ensure that all necessary repairs are completed.
