A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck at 7:39 a.m. Saturday about six miles south of Borrego Springs, but no damage was reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, it was the third temblor of magnitude 3.0 or more in the same vicinity within the past 10 days.

The latest quake was centered almost eight miles deep in a mountainous area.

Residents as far east as La Jolla and Encinitas and as far south as La Mesa reported feeling the quake.
