A pedestrian was struck by a Sprinter train on the tracks in San Marcos, but got up and walked away, authorities said Friday.
The conductor of the westbound passenger train saw a person on the tracks in the vicinity of Los Posas Road and West Mission Avenue, just west of Palomar College Transit Center, shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, sheriff’s Deputy Jason Burk said.
The train’s operator blasted its horn and hit the brakes, but could not stop in time to avoid hitting the pedestrian, according to the deputy.
Burk said the pedestrian walked off to the east after being struck, and was not located in a subsequent search.
