A brush fire that charred 18 acres north of Lakeside was 60 percent contained Monday morning.
The blaze ignited for unknown reasons Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of state Route 67 and Slaughterhouse Canyon Road in Lakeside, according to Cal Fire.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, fire officials said.
