A 22-year-old man was beaten and stabbed Tuesday in what likely was a gang-related attack outside the Linda Vista Public Library.

The victim and a friend were walking through the library’s parking lot on Ulric Street when they were approached by three men in their 20s shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A fight ensued in which the victim was punched, kicked and stabbed four times, but his companion was not injured, Delimitros said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The suspects fled in a green Honda Accord with chrome rims.

A detailed description of the suspects was not immediately available, but police said two were bald, one was wearing a tank top and shorts and another had on a white T-shirt and shorts.
