Bank robberies are up 28 percent in San Diego County at mid year, and the FBI on Wednesday asked residents to help provide tips about suspects.

Eric S. Birnbaum, special agent in charge of the San Diego field office, said there were 25 bank robberies in the first six months, compared to 18 in the same period last year and 49 in the first half 2015.

Almost every city in San Diego County has experienced at least one bank robbery so far this year, with the FBI providing this list:

  • Carlsbad — 2
  • Chula Vista — 3
  • El Cajon — 2
    Encinitas — 1
  • Imperial Beach — 1
  • La Mesa — 3
  • Oceanside — 2
  • San Diego — 6
  • San Marcos — 1
  • San Ysidro — 1
  • Solana Beach — 2
  • Vista — 1

Anyone with information concerning a bank robbery should contact the FBI at (858) 320-1800 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Tipsters might be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 .
