Crews got a full line of containment Wednesday around the charred site of a roughly 100-acre brush fire that briefly threatened back-country homes and prompted evacuations south of Ramona.

Someone using a power mower to cut weeds accidentally sparked the blaze early Monday afternoon off El Capitan Truck Trail, near Featherstone Canyon Road in the Barona area, according to Cal Fire.

Sheriff’s deputies cleared residents out of nearby homes as the fast- moving flames spread over rugged, hilly terrain northeast of Barona Resort & Casino. Authorities lifted the evacuation order about three hours later.

The blaze, dubbed the Feather Fire, caused no reported structural damage or injuries
