A skateboarder was struck by a car while attempting to cross a street in Pacific Beach against a traffic signal on Monday and was hospitalized in grave condition.

The 22-year-old victim rode into the path of a turning Toyota Prius at the intersection of Ingraham and Felspar streets shortly after 7 p.m., according to San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros.

Delimitros said the skateboarder suffered a “non survivable head injury.” His name was not immediately released by police.
