Protesters demonstrating against police brutality briefly made their way onto Interstate 15 on Friday night, prompting the California Highway Patrol to shut down lanes.
The group entered the southbound freeway near University Avenue in City Heights about 8:40 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mary Bailey.
All southbound lanes were shut down and the protesters were instructed to exit the freeway, which they did about 10 minutes later, Bailey said.
Lanes remained closed a short while after they left while officers made sure it was safe to get traffic flowing again.
Bailey didn’t know how many protesters were involved, but said she didn’t believe any were arrested.
