A thief in a blue cap robbed an El Cerrito-area bank Monday.

The man handed a demand note to a teller at the Union Bank branch office in the 6000 block of El Cajon Boulevard about 10:45 a.m., according to San Diego police. He fled the area on foot with an undetermined amount of money, Officer Dan Lasher said.

The bandit was described as a roughly 5-foot-4-inch white man in his 40s or early 50s.
