An 81-year-old man who allegedly robbed a Gaslamp District bank Monday calmly took a seat in the lobby afterward and waited for authorities to arrive to arrest him, police said.
Dale Jenkins of San Diego allegedly approached a teller at the Bank of America branch office in the 400 block of Island Avenue and demanded cash shortly before 11 a.m. He then strolled over to a customer lounge area at the bank and sat down, Officer Dan Lasher said.
Jenkins remained there until patrol personnel arrived and took him into custody, Lasher said.
