San Diego Police are searching for an assailant who stabbed a man twice near the Encanto Recreation Center on Wednesday night.

The assailant got out of a gray Toyota pickup truck and attacked the 52-year-old victim, who was drinking wine on a staircase on Broadway near 65th Street shortly before 7:30 p.m., San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. The suspect then got back into the truck and drove off.

The victim suffered knife wounds to his neck and abdomen, but Delimitros said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police described the suspect as a bald 5-foot-8 Hispanic man in his early 30s dressed in black clothing.
