An investigation was underway Tuesday into the deaths of two women and a teenage girl at a home near Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course in what may have been a double murder-suicide.

Deputies responding to a report of possible child abuse at the upscale house in the 17100 block of Via de la Valle found the bodies of the two women, who were both around 40, and a roughly 15-year-old girl shortly before noon Monday, according to San Diego Sheriff‘s Lt. Kenneth Nelson. None of their names have been made public, nor how they died.

After spotting one of the bodies through a kitchen window, the deputies forced entry and found the other two bodies. Each had suffered “obvious trauma,” Nelson said without elaboration.

“Based on the initial evidence, detectives do not believe there are any outstanding suspects in this case,” Nelson said in a statement.

A suspected motive has yet to be determined, the lieutenant told news crews.

Anyone with additional information on the case was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (858) 974-2321, or after hours at (858) 565-5200. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
