After an apparent series of suicide bombings killed at least 28 people and injured dozens more at the largest airport in Turkey, a Lindbergh Field representative said Tuesday there were no credible threats against San Diego’s bayside air-travel hub and no immediate plans to alter security protocols there.
“We are continuing to be vigilant,” said Jonathan Heller, spokesman for San Diego International Airport, adding that there was “no indication of any threat.”
There also were no reports of any local flight cancellations or delays as a result of the overseas attack.
As always, authorities advised those who pass through Lindbergh Field to cooperate with security personnel by remaining “mindful of their surroundings” and reporting anything that seems suspicious.
Three or four suicide bombers armed with guns were believed to have carried out the attack at Ataturk Airport, according to news reports. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
