A Fallbrook man suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle crash Sunday on Palomar Mountain, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 46-year-old man was traveling northbound on South Grade Road near Canfield Road at 3 p.m., when he dropped his 2008 Yamaha R1 and was thrown off while negotiating a curve, CHP Officer Jim Bettencourt said.
Both the bike and the rider slid into the opposite lane and were struck by a 2008 Nissan Versa driven by a 40-year-old Temecula man.
The motorcyclist was flown to Palomar Hospital via Mercy Air where he was pronounced dead. There were no other injuries, according to Bettencourt.
The CHP was investigating the crash to determine if the motorcyclist was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
