A 17-year-old boy suffered a stab wound to his neck in a suspected gang-related attack in Logan Heights, police said Tuesday.

Bystanders stopped to help after spotting the boy bleeding from his neck while he was walking along Webster Avenue near South 30th Street, then collapse around 4:45 p.m. Monday, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said. However, the victim refused help and became aggressive.

“Police and fire units arrived and the victim became so enraged he had to be sedated for treatment of his injury,” Delimitros said.

The injured teen was yelling gang slurs throughout the incident, Delimitros said.

His wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the officer.
