A gun-wielding man climbed through an apartment window in Carlsbad early Monday and robbed a resident.

The victim told police that he woke up to the suspect removing a living room window screen at the complex in the 2600 block of Jefferson Street shortly before 5 a.m., according to a Carlsbad Police statement. The man pulled a gun and demanded the resident’s cash and phones.

The resident handed over $25, and the suspect ran out the front door, police said. He was not located during a subsequent search.

Police described the suspect as white, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 175 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a yellow hood pulled up over his face and blue jeans.

Anyone with additional information on the case was asked to call police at (760) 931-2197.
