A motorcyclist was severely injured when he crashed into a tree and a house in Serra Mesa, police reported Monday.

The 24-year-old rider lost control of his speeding Kawasaki motorcycle on a curve in Murray Ridge Road near Sandrock Road around 6:45 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The motorcycle careened into a tree on the north side of the street, then struck the front of a house, Delimitros said.

Delimitros said the rider suffered a brain bleed and fractures to his pelvis and femur.
