A driver pulled over to talk on his cell phone in San Ysidro but lost his car to three men armed with a gun and a knife, according to San Diego police.

The 1996 Nissan Maxima, white, 4-door car was stolen in the vicinity of West Calle Primera and Via Segundo at about 4:30 Saturday, according to Sgt. Michael Tansey.

The three men ordered the driver out of the car and took off southbound. The driver was not hurt, Tansey said.

The suspects were described as a white man with a gun, 18-20 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches, medium build. The suspect with the knife was described as black, 18-20 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches, heavy build, and wearing dark colored shorts.

And the third suspect was Hispanic, 18-20 years old, 5-feet, 5-inches, with a thin build, wearing a dark colored shirt and dark colored pants.

The car has a California license plate with the number 7LOF325.

Detectives from the Robbery Unit are handling the investigation. They asked anyone with information on the carjacking to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
