Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a stabbing following an argument with his mother, an Oceanside Police official said Monday.
Nathan Orozco was found Sunday in his back yard and taken into custody without incident, said Lt. Matt Cole of the Oceanside Police Department.
At 4:07 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a residence on the 4100 block of Alabar Way after several people called 911, reporting that a woman was screaming for help, Cole said.
They found the 42-year-old woman with at least one stab wound, Cole said, adding that she told police Orozco had stabbed her in the back after the two argued.
The woman was airlifted to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, and is expected to survive, Cole said.
