Police were searching Saturday for a man in his 30s who tried to pull a 15-year-old girl into a car in San Ysidro.
The girl was walking west about 5:15 p.m. Friday, in the 100 block of West Mount Carmel Drive when she saw a red Honda sedan drive alongside her, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.
As the girl began walking faster, the driver used the car to block her from crossing the street, Heims said.
“The suspect got out of the car and grabbed the victim by the arm and told her to get in the car,” Heims said.
The girl, who did not know the suspect, wrestled herself from his grasp and ran off. The suspect then drove off and was last seen turning onto Alaquinas Drive, Heims said.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s with a medium build, a beard, and brown ear-length hair. He was wearing a gray shirt and jeans.
The car is described as an older, red Honda sedan that was very dirty and had a loud muffler.
