Two men suspected in up to six armed robberies in North County overnight were arrested in Vista Wednesday after a brief pursuit early Tuesday, police said.
Deputies sent to investigate a robbery at an Arco AM/PM convenience store at the corner of South Santa Fe Avenue and Mar Vista Drive spotted a pickup truck matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle shortly after 12:30 a.m., San Diego Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Munsch said. Two occupants were detained following a short chase.
The suspects’ names were not immediately available, but Munsch said they were identified by several of the victims. A handgun believed to have been used during the robberies and property belonging to at least one victim were found.
Munsch said six robberies were reported overnight in Vista, San Marcos and Oceanside. Deputies were working with Oceanside police to determine whether the suspects carried out the robbery there.
