A prowler in a Clairemont house escaped capture Friday morning by crashing through a bedroom window and fleeing in a car, authorities said.

The incident happened in the 5100 block of Dawne Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. when homeowner Mark Lindsay was awakened by his barking dogs in time to see the shadow of a man pass by his bedroom doorway. Lindsay said the man was trapped in the home by the dogs and the intruder’s only way out was through his 22-year-old daughter’s bedroom window.

Nothing in the home was taken and no one was injured, according to Lindsay.

The prowler was seen running from the yard and escaping in a black car. He was described as a black man, about 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 11, wearing a black shirt and black pants.
