San Diego Police are seeking two men who pistol-whipped a driver during a carjacking in the Clairemont area on Tuesday night.

The driver and passenger were sitting inside a beige 2002 Hyundai Elantra with California license plate 6DJR871 in a shopping center parking lot on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Rolfe Road when they were approached by two gun-wielding men shortly after 9 p.m., San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings said.

The suspects pulled the driver and passenger out of the car and pistol-whipped the driver.

One of the suspects drove off in the victims car, and the other fled in a dark sedan, possibly a Honda, Jennings said.

A detailed description of the suspects was not immediately available, but Jennings said they were both 20 to 25 years old and wearing dark clothing.
