A man was stabbed to death in a fight, and his attacker remained at large, said National City police on Sunday.
Police were called to a report of a possible shooting or stabbing in the area of 43rd and Delta Streets in San Diego at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Officers found the victim nearby in the 200 block of North Highland Avenue in National City, Lt. Robert Rounds said.
Eduardo Ortega, Jr., 25, of San Diego, was taken by paramedics to a local hospital, bleeding from stab wounds. He died shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Witnesses told police they saw Ortega fighting with a Hispanic man before the stabbing. The suspect was described as being about six feet tall, medium build and about 30 years old.
