Oceanside police were investigating a shooting that left one man injured and the assailant who fired the shots still at large, according to authorities.
Police received numerous calls shortly before midnight Friday with reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of Marquette Street near Santa Barbara Street in a residential neighborhood, according to Oceanside Police Lt. Leonard Cosby.
When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds that did not appear to be fatal, Cosby said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and officers began a search for the suspect.
