Firefighters made quick work of a blaze that erupted Tuesday in a home under renovation in the East County highlands.
Flames began spreading inside the house in the 2200 block of Whispering Pines Drive in the Julian area about 2 p.m., Cal Fire Capt. Issac Sanchez said.
It took crews roughly 20 minutes to subdue the blaze, which appeared to have originated in or near a fireplace, according to Sanchez.
The cause of the non-injury fire, which resulted in an estimated $2,000 worth of damage, was under investigation.
