San Diego Sheriff‘s deputies conducted a DUI checkpoint operation overnight Friday that netted two arrests and four impounded vehicles in San Marcos.
The checkpoint was conducted Friday night in the 100 block of East Mission Road, according sheriff’s Corporal Agustin Rosas.
A total of 428 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, Rosas said. One person was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and a second was jailed for an unspecified violation.
Four vehicles were impounded because the motorists were driving on suspended licenses, Rosas continued. A total of 23 citations were also issued for vehicle violations that included driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, allowing an unlicensed motorist to drive and possession of marijuana.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the California Office of Traffic Safety.
