Five motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving during an overnight DUI saturation patrol in Chula Vista, police said Sunday.
Also, 31 citations were issued to drivers and two vehicles were towed due to motorists driving with a suspended license, the Chula Vista Police Department reported.
During the operation, which began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended Sunday at 3 a.m., 45 traffic stops were conducted for speed, stop sign violations, window tint and several other vehicle code violations, police said.
Police in Chula Vista said the DUI saturation patrol was the first of four to be conducted in March.
