Two motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and 12 citations were issued at a driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint overnight Friday in Imperial Beach.

Three vehicles were also stored during the checkpoint that began at 8 p.m. Friday and ended Saturday at 3 a.m., according to Sgt. Laura D. Spang of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Spang said 1,172 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department did not release the specific location of the checkpoint.
