A confrontation on Friday between two groups at a sandwich shop in San Diego’s Valencia Park neighborhood ended with a 14-year-old boy being chased down and stabbed in the back, police said.
The victim suffered a non-fatal stab wound in the attack, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. outside a Subway restaurant at 342 Euclid Ave., San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
The stabbed boy was with a group of friends inside the eatery when three men in their early 20s approached them and a fight broke out, Heims said.
The boy ran away, but one of the suspects chased him down and stabbed him once in the back, Heims said. The teen was taken to a hospital.
All three suspects got into a green Ford Explorer that was last seen southbound on Euclid Avenue, Heims said.
They were described as black men in their 20s. One of them was 5 feet 10 inches tall and wore a red and white shirt and tan shorts.
Anyone with information about the suspects was urged to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
