A Sprinter train struck and killed a pedestrian near Palomar College Tuesday afternoon.
The fatality, described as a possible suicide, occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on a stretch of tracks near the intersection of West Mission and Knoll roads in San Marcos, sheriff’s Lt. Jim Walker said.
The victim died at the scene. His name was not immediately available.
Sprinter service was running about 20 minutes behind schedule as of mid- afternoon, according to North County Transit District officials.
