Chula Vista Police were on the lookout Monday for a man who attacked a department store employee and stabbed him multiple times in his face and chest, authorities said.
Officers sent to investigate a report of a disturbance at the Ross Store on Palomar Street near Broadway found the wounded employee shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a Chula Vista Police statement. The employee was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police the unidentified suspect walked into the store and began stabbing the employee for unknown reasons. Police said it appeared the victim was targeted, but the motive had yet to be determined. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
