A 39-year-old man was slashed on the face on Saturday evening during an attack by two suspects who got out of an SUV in San Diego’s Grant Hill neighborhood, police said.

The attack happened about 7:50 p.m. in the the south alley of the 2700 block of G Street, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.

“The victim’s wife said there was a gold (Nissan) Pathfinder in the alley and thought it was there for him,” Heims said.

“The victim walked over to the Pathfinder to see who it was when a Hispanic male and Filipino male jumped out of the SUV and attacked the victim. During the fight, the victim was sliced in his left cheek with a knife.”

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-fatal injury, Heims said. A description of the suspects was not immediately available.
