One of two gunmen accused of carjacking a Dominos Pizza delivery driver in Lincoln Park pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony charges, including conspiracy to commit carjacking and robbery and evading police.
Oscar Mancha, 29, was ordered held on $250,000 bail.
San Diego police said the 30-year-old victim had just delivered a pizza on Solola Avenue east of South 47th Street about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when two men with bandanas covering most of their faces stole his wallet and drove off in his 2006 Dodge Charger.
About 10 minutes later, National City police officers spotted the stolen car on East First Street near D Avenue.
The driver sped off and crashed the stolen car a few blocks away, and both suspects ran off. A police helicopter helped officers catch Mancha, but the second suspect got away.
Mancha — who also faces charges of robbery, carjacking and being an ex- felon in possession of a firearm — faces 33 years in prison if convicted, according to Deputy District Attorney Jim Koerber.
