A 23-year-old woman was robbed by a gun-toting man on El Cajon Boulevard, according to police on Saturday.

The man got into the back seat of her car and ordered her to drive him to an ATM and take out money which was used to buy items from a liquor store. The incident began at about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 4400 block of El Cajon Boulevard, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

The victim had gotten into her car and the suspect approached the vehicle while the door was open.

“The suspect tapped a gun against the frame of the vehicle and told the victim to drive to an ATM and got into the backseat of her car,” Heims said.

“The victim drove to an ATM and took out an unknown amount of cash. The suspect then made the victim drive to a liquor store,” the officer said.

“The suspect made the victim walk into the liquor store and buy unknown items from the store.”

Once the suspect got the items he ran away, Heims said. He is described only as a male, possibly Hispanic, with curly hair and a dark jacket.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call police at (619) 531-2000.
